Why does the Canon B200 error occur?

The Canon B200 error is one of the significant issues that most of the Canon printer users face. This error generally occurs due to faulty and unclear printheads. The printhead is a Canon printer component that actually transfers the color or black ink onto a page. The error may also appear if the ink cartridge is not inserted appropriately into the printer, a piece of paper stuck in the printhead or due to damaged cartridges. It is necessary to remove this issue immediately otherwise you will not be allowed to print a single page from your printer. Hence for seamless printing experience, take a look at all the easy and latest troubleshooting steps. 

  • Quickly Reset Your Printer

It is possible that the printhead is not placed properly in the required place. This Canon issue sometimes gets easily resolved by resetting your printer. Disconnect all the cables and wait for a period of 30 minutes. Now, attach the power cable back into the printer port and to the wall outlet. When you power on the printer, everything will get reset to its proper position. 

  • Remove any piece of paper or obstacles found 

It may happen that due to any obstacle your printer is incapable to connect with the printhead. Now, turn off your printer and open the top cover of the printer. After opening the top cover, take out all the cartridges and then lift up the printhead latch. Now, gently take out the printhead. Check the inner areas surrounded by the printhead properly. If any paper or hindrance is found, remove it instantly to fix Canon B200 error. 

  • Gently clean the printhead and wipe away any excess ink

Also, if you have not cleaned the printhead for a longer time, clean it right away. Lift up the printhead from the printer to initiate the cleaning process. Now, dip a clean and lint-free cloth into the hot water. Using the cloth remove any old ink present on the printhead. Next, take a disposable container, place a paper towel in it, and pour the hot water till the paper towel is fully dipped. Now, put the printhead into the container so that the nozzles get cleaned. Take out the printhead from the container and then place it on a clean paper towel. Soak the printhead for nearly 10 minutes. Thereafter, reinstall the printhead and try to print. 

  • Replace the old ink cartridges with a new one

If the cartridges you are using are no more working, then also the Canon B200 error will be displayed on your screen. So, it is mandatory to remove the damaged cartridges for clear and error-free printing. So, take a new cartridge that is well-suitable for your Canon printer model. You can refer to the manual that comes with your printer to check the cartridge compatibility. Then, insert the ink cartridge into the printer properly. 

  • Re-install the printer driver

If the above-given troubleshooting steps do not resolve the Canon B200 error, it may be a problem with the installed printer driver. So, reinstall the software by visiting the official website of Canon.
